2024 Players' Championship needs a commissioner

Alright, SOM has been engaged to create our main standings page, next I will create the signup sheet. Boy am I glad I signed up a board because I think you all are going to love this.

This was suggested by three time champion hendrix08 and given the thumbs up QUICKLY by the other two board members !

The Top 6 players will go straight to the Finals.
The next 12 players 7-18 will go into a Semi-Final where those that make the playoffs get the next 4 spots.
The next 24 players 19-42 will go into a Semi-Final where the Champions make the final two spots.

All semi's and finals are 80 mil DH

The events and the dates are as follows:

Event 1 CHOICE 60/80/100 all DH Begins Apr 29
Event 2 80 Mil DH Begins June 3
Event 3 60 Mil DH Begins July 8
Event 4 100 Mil DH Unleashed Begins Aug 5
Event 5 80 Mil DH Begins Sep 9

This is now locked in stone and sent to SOM so no further modifications will be done to this.

Further, the signup sheet will explain that all signups will need to provide me an email or two as THIS will be used to send out notifications and league invites. Phone number optional as a lot of people like phone calls or texts these days. Fail to provide that, you won't get an invite. This is more efficient than message boards and have worked well in Barnstormers for 15 years.

SOM will be launching advertisements for the tour as soon as our main page goes up. If we reach a participation on Event 1 of 120 players, the Top 42 will get a credit to play their playoffs.

What does unleashed mean ???

I know there's an unleashed set... but what's the difference... couldn't find any at 1st glance...

You have to use the "unleashed" card set. It's a different version of the 2023 cards.

Fluke cards

In most Strat-O-Matic Baseball 365 player sets, we remove cards from play that we feel are Flukes - i.e. cards that are too strong compared to the players' expected career performance level, by virtue of the cards being based on a small sample size (few PA or IP).

if I'm ot mistaken... in previous editions there were no stadium groupings...

but we could not use each one more than once in the 5 events...

all is fortgotten come playoff time...

The board voted unanimously for this point system to be used for the 2024 players tour.

- 1 point for each regular season win
- 1 point for each postseason win
- 2 points for winning a regular season division title
- 1 point for winning the wild card position
- 5 points for winning a league championship
