Posted: Fri Mar 12, 2021 4:09 pmI believe that by Moose oversubscribing leagues he mitigated the problem of having the inevitable 1 or 2 stragglers. Then you fill last 1 or two leagues with stragglers/fillers. You might ask him how he wound up doing it. I didnt notice a lot of hiccups with it.

I ask for a randomizing of all active players (in my case a random run of 1 to x) and then I match up the alphabetical list of players to the randomized list. Then I take the first 14 and INVITE to League 1 - next 14 to league 2 - and down the line.
And freeman has speculated correctly that it does seem to get leagues filled faster. But I also think I am spending more time than other Commish's by keeping a tight watch on the leagues filling so when a league does fill, I am quick on the draw to find other places to INVITE the two that didn't get in. Of course I am also sending NAG emails to them to let them know they were moved and the new league. The stragglers seem to be the same people most of the time.
