Ron Santo or Ron Canto?

PostTue Oct 07, 2014 10:21 pm

I have always avoided Ron Santo in the 60's mystery card game and always avoided him in the 69 game. I generally prefer to go cheap (Gilliam) or Iron Gloved (Dick Allen) at 3rd but Santo fell to me on one of my teams (currently in the semis) and I am not impressed. An injury revealed to me it was his 1961 year, second lowest OPS, not great but still .284/.362/.479 with 23 HR. In Metropolitan stadium he gave me a pathetic .242/.305/.399 with 15 HR. I usually batted him 7th or 8th and he was equally underwhelming versus both righties and lefties. He also committed 15 Errors and was a bad influence in the clubhouse.
Never again because Santo Can'to.
My next post will be about how absurdly overpriced Mantle is in the 60's game.
