What if...

If you leave your lineup blank the computer simply puts the most expensive player at each of their primary positions. But what if you have two 1B who have the exact same salary and you leave 1B blank in the lineup? Will the computer go by alphabetical order, OR will the computer start the player who has the better card? Again this is if the salaries are exactly the same.

And to what extent can you trust the computer to bring in your best reliever in say a closing situation if you leave "Closer" blank in the settings?

The only people who can answer that are SOM employees. And they never post here. However, if they did post here and they told you, then they would have to kill you. So, count your blessings for unanswered questions!

If I were SOM I would fill in the blank using a random selection 51% of the time so as not to disclose any secrets. If I were SOM 24% of the time I would fill in the blank using the player with the least number of triples or walks allowed and 25% of the time, if I were SOM, I would fill in the blank using the player with the highest OBP or win-loss ratio. This would prevent disclosure of secrets, while, at the same time, mess with cocky people who think they know the answer.
