Bad Things Come in Threes...

First, Seaver.

Then Lou Brock.

And now Bob Gibson.

During the '67 World Series, I was in 6th grade, and was able to go home for lunch because of my proximity to the elementary school I attended. During that time, I got to see Gibson clobber a home run off of Jim Lonborg in the deciding seventh game.

I was rooting for the Cards at the time, and I remember going back to school and being able to "brag" to my classmates and razz those who were rooting for the Red Sox.

Very sad.....
As a Little League, Babe Ruth and HS pitcher, I would alternate my windup-style between Seaver and Gibson game to game....
I did not have the power of either, and was more of a Boddiker pitcher, but as a Long Island guy, I LOVED SEAVER!
