gb (A) question

On a gb A, if there is a man on 2nd but not on first, does the runner advance?

Off the top of my head I would say NO or else it would be a gb C. I believe gb A and gb B would have the same answer to your question. However there could be special exceptions to the rule.

All of this is very unofficial since it is just my gut feeling and I have not consulted any SOM rule book.

They advance on groundballs to second base or first base.

Note: In the original basic game, the runners would not advance. However, this changed for groundballs to the right side in the super-advanced game.
