help me understand

I have Pops at 1st and Yaz in left but HAL switches them every game...why ?

I hope you're talking about the '70s set. (It would be insane to do this in the 60s set.)

By switching them, you can expect nine fewer errors over the course of the season. Also, Stargell's arm is better than Yaz's in left. You end up with a 3 and a 2 instead of a 1 and a 4, so that's mostly a wash. True, everything else being equal, I'd prefer the 1/4 versus 3/2, but taking the errors and arm into account, the switch makes sense.

Incidentally, I had to google who Pops was, so if anyone else doesn't know, it's Stargell.

nice to have some young people playing the game.
btw, that switch would drive me crazy. I would much rather have Yaz in left because OF misses are worse than 1B misses. Is it possible to put Pops in right?
