Background: Each position player was reviewed to determine the team which they had the most plate appearances (hitters) or innings pitched (pitchers) from 2000 to 2009. The results were recorded on an Excel sheet. In addition, team win/loss winning percentage were calculated for the seasons 2000 through 2009. The team with the best winning percentage (New York Yankees) was matched with the team with the lowest winning percentage (Washington Nationals/Montreal Expos, the second best matched with second worst etc. Fifteen team combinations were created. (Note, three teams were moved based on roster composition with their original match)
Player assignment is based solely on the roster file----the team appearing on the card are not relevant for the purpose of player placement. Eight players-five hitters and three pitchers---appearing in green font—were moved to another team for competitive balance purposes. Steps were take to ensure the accuracy of data but if you detect an error please advise me prior to the team draft. Once the team draft is initiated, no changes will be made to the player placements on their respective team.

Players can be added/dropped as often as desired consistent with SOM salary rules.

Exceptions referenced above: Players selected via these rules are eligible to participate in the league
Mid Season Acquisition allowance:
After game 75,the draft order will be established for those teams eligible to participate in the supplemental player draft. The order is based on the lowest winning percentage. If two teams are tied, the team with the worse run differential will have the higher selection. This player can be added to the roster after the conclusion of game 81 and becomes the exclusive property to the drafting owner.
The allowance for teams participating in the draft is detailed in the Excel sheet in column “K”.
St. Louis Cardinals/Pittsburgh Pirates $2,290,000
Atlanta Braves/Detroit Tigers: $6,710,000
Houston Astros/Milwaukee Brewers; $6,740,000
Los Angeles Angeles/Kansas City Royals: $7,310,000
Florida Marlins/Philadelphia Phillies: $7,800,000
New York Yankees/Washington Nationals/Montreal Expos: $8,720,000
Los Angeles Dodgers/Baltimore Orioles: $9,820,000
Chicago White Sox/Cincinnati Reds: $14,430,000
The amount available will provide each team to reach the average salary of all team combinations in this league.
Owners can add one or more players subject to the team salary limit.
Draft order-Mid Season Acquisition: The draft order will be established in reverse order of the standings as of game 75. In the event of ties, the order will be determined based on head to head records (two teams) or run differential (three or more teams). The team with fewer wins in the head to head competition will receive the earlier pick. If 3 or more teams are tied based on records, the team with the worse run differential will receive the higher pick. If the tiebreakers described above does not resolve the tie, a randomizer will be run to establish the order of selection.
Since we will only have two days between the establishment of the draft order and the players becoming eligible, each participant will have a 2 hour window to post their selection via a league wide e-mail. We will use the hours between 8 AM and 8 PM EDT. If a pick is not made, the owner with the next pick can post their selection. If you believe you won’t have access to the SOM site, please consider sending your selection to the commissioner or a person selecting after you. If you are unable to post your pick, you can select your eligible player when you can or simply add your selection after game 81.
