In the first league, the divisions will be random.
The playoff rules in a 24 team league are as follows:
For 24-team leagues: At the end of the 162-game regular season, 8 teams advance to the Playoffs, which consists of 3 rounds - a Quarter-Finals (best of 5 games), a Semi-Finals (best of 7 games), and a Finals (best of 7 games). The 8 teams to advance are the winners of the 4 Divisions, plus 4 Wild Card teams. The Wild Card teams are the 4 best records among teams that did not win their division.
For subsequent years 2-5, the teams are ranked based on the prior year's performance. First is the finals winner, then runner-up, then the other semi-finalists. All the remaining teams will ranked by W-L record with ties resolved by head-to-head record and then run differential. Each team must announce their 3 keepers. Then we will have a one round draft for one more player for each team - the order of the one round draft is the reverse of the ranking. Divisions will be filled based on the ranking so the top six teams will be in the same division, etc.
