The 70s set used to have a feature where you could find a player by team, but they don't seem to have it any longer. I started a list some time back, but because of other priorities the past couple of weeks, I've been unable to finish it. I do expect to finish and complete it in about two to three weeks, at which time I'll post it on this thread.

Here's some of the batters: Grich (8.97), Bonds (8.28), Aikens (6.40), Rudi (5.94), Epstein (5.92), etc. I have a list of 34 batters through Dave Collins (1.04). Although I feel that I have been thorough, I wouldn't mind having another set of eyes checking on my list for accuracy once I post the list.

Here's some of the pitchers: N. Ryan, A. Messersmith, F. Tanana, B. Singer, R. May. I have a list of 17 pitchers through Dyar Miller (0.78). [Miller happens to be the pitching coach for my hometown Fresno Grizzlies, AAA affiliate of the Houston Astros https://www.baseball-reference.com/bullpen/Dyar_Miller]

There shouldn't be any problem with getting 36 players representing the Angels. The challenge will be the changes a manager will have to go through if any of his Angels have awful seasons ("Fallen Angels?") and they need to be replaced.

Boo - I live in Salt Lake City. Go Bees! They are the Angels AAA.

I haven't abandoned this thread; I've had a lot of other things on my plate. There appears to be some interest in this league concept. At the beginning of July I'll have more detailed information, but what I'm contemplating at the moment would be a $60 M no DH league where every team would have one $6+ M salaried player, plus three carded Angels whose total salary needs to exceed $9 M [i.e. if they have at least one carded season as an Angel, such as Joe Rudi, then they are eligible]. Thus, those four players would total $15 M + and thus comprise at least 1/4 of your team's total salary. Players could be dropped or traded so long as those two basic rules are adhered to throughout the season. The Angels would be selected by a three round draft. There can be no joint use of an Angels player > $6 M; i.e., he cannot serve as the $6 M man if he's one of the $15 M Angels.

Good old Pacific Coast League baseball!! Looks like both the Bees and the Grizzlies are in first place in their respective divisions.

Going to the July 4th game against Las Vegas 51s.

LEE AND FARRAH FAWCETT MAJORS THEME LEAGUE

Two well known television shows during the 1970s were the Six Million Dollar Man, which starred Lee Majors, and Charlie’s Angels, featuring Major’s then wife Farrah Fawcett (during the first season). [Dumb joke: What do you call students who major in the study of both Egyptian rulers and plumbing?? A – Pharaoh Faucet Majors!!]

This league is to honor those two “classics”. This will be a $60 M non-DH league, so it will be Small Ball. The basic rule of the league throughout its duration is that all teams will have just one non-Angel player whose salary exceeds $6 M (i.e., the $6 Million Dollar Man), and that all teams have three carded California Angels whose total salaries must exceed $9 M (in honor of three Charlie’s Angels). Those four players combined salaries will be > $15 M, or > 25% of the team’s total salary, while representing just 16% (assuming 24 player roster) of the team, so their selection will be a critical component of the team. All other player’s salaries shall be $5.5 M or less. The only circumstance when a team may have more than one >6M player is if any Angel player’s salary exceeds that amount.

There will be a four round serpentine draft to select the four players above (Randomizer).

The following are the carded Angels:

Teams must carry a $6M man and three Angels totaling >9M through the entire season. A $6 M player will need to be replaced by a $6 M player. There should be enough replacement Angels if one is dropped during the season, but the team roster may need to undergo some changes.

question - I was setting up a team to see what it would like and noticed I had 4 Angels. 3 totaled $9M or more in salary but is it ok to roster a 4th Angel? Cheryl Ladd eagerly awaits your answer.

So does Tanya Roberts.

Nothing wrong with four Angels; however, three will be chosen during the four round pre-draft. If your fourth Angel is still available after that, that addition to your team would be permissible. In some respects, choosing four Angels might be a good strategy just in case you need to drop one during the season.

I'm still debating to join, but note that you are excluding about 17 players (did not factor out angels) who have salaries between $5.51 and $5.99 million
