Sorry about the delay--was out of town and had limited access to internet. Here is a summary on the playoffs.

Premeditated Resentment (Generationm1--East Division champion-88-74 faced off against the 1st seed Hickory Taverns (Spider 67) 100-62.

Gallifrey Timelords (Nol15736--West division champs--97-65) faced wild card One For Pops (DSZCZYPKA--88-74).

The Taverns jumped out to a 2-0 league before Resentment won the next two games making it a best of 3. The Taverns won game 5 18-8 but Resentment forced a decisive game 7 with a 9-5 win. This set up a game 7 winner takes all match between Chuck Finley of the Taverns and Josh Fogg (assigned to Resentment) for Resentment. Travis Haffner launched two home runs for the Taverns which helped them overcome the 100 game winner curse as the Taverns moved onto the finals.

In the other match up, One For Pops won game 11-7 in extra innings. The Timelords rallied in the bottom of the 9th with 3 runs to extend the game into extras but Pops won after scoring 4 in the 11th. The Timelords won the next two games before Pops won game 4 which also made this series the best of 3. The teams split games 5 and 6 setting up a game 7 battle of Roger Clemens (Timelords) and Tim Hudson (Pops). Roger outdueled Tim as the Timelords prevailed 2-1 setting up a battle between the teams with the two best records in the league.

The Taverns won games 1 and 2 by identical scores of 3-2 and won game 3 5-4. The Timelords won game 4 11-8 before the Taverns won game 5 behind Ben Sheets winning 8-3.

Congrats to Spider 67 for winning 100 games in the regular season and 8 more in the playoffs. Nol15736 also had a great season winning 97 games while playing in a division with owners who are very used of winning.

Todd Helton (Taverns) was the playoff MVP while Ryan Klesko (Timelords) finished second.

Hope you enjoyed reading the weekly updates and perhaps our paths will cross in an upcoming season.
