I'm an idea guy!

I mean I'm a lover, not a commish...

If anybody wants to take this over, I wouldn't mind. I'll definitely help out. If nobody steps up, I'll do it.

I mentioned earlier, unique stadiums won't be a problem as a lot of stadiums don't cross decades.

As far as the tournament goes, I'm thinking of several 12 team leagues. With the final 12 highest point earners competing for the Mystery Card Champ.

If nobody is stepping up as commish, then the 60's & 70's will be NO DH. The DH will appear in the 80's & 90's. In the final round that is voted on, the same rules apply. If it's the 60's/70's, there will be no DH. The DH will be in the 80's/90's.

I will wait and see how many you get, and possibly join if you need one or two more to fill out a multiple of 12. I understand not wanting a DH for the 1960s, but personally I am not a fan of non DH leagues. I do not really understand the point of unique stadiums. I love the Mystery Game format and I will be interested in following how the rules and tournament shapes up. Good luck all.

I'm in favor of DH for the 70s. There are some nice cards in the set (Aikens, Blomberg, Allen, etc.) who were DHs and their cards don't really play well in the field. I also don't see the point of unique stadiums across different sets.

"I also don't see the point of unique stadiums across different sets."

Stadiums spanning all 4 Mystery Card sets:

Anaheim
Astrodome
Busch
Candlestick
Comiskey
County
Shea
Yankee

These are off the top of my head, so YES we need to be aware of the stadiums...

I prefer no DH in the 90s (isn't there enough hitting already in that decade?). I don't think there is a set of rules that will 100% please everyone. I'll go with whatever.

yeah i don't care on the minor rules, but i do agree with 80 mil caps, play each decade, NOT A MINI tourny, and using a mix of dh no dh

for 60s and 70s, because of the lack of hitting unless you iron glove it, i would say dh. in the 80s and 90s because of the wealth of hitting with shatty defense anyway, i say no dh

i would offer to run it, been a strat player for a long time, but ironically have never played in a tournament. always seem to miss the sign ups

Should be no-DH in the 60's, DH in the other three. Aren't those the default settings? Four rounds, 80m cap each round, live draft for the finals, those in the finals get to vote on particulars like decade, cap, DH/no-DH. No need to worry about unique stadiums, as there is a different set in each game. Live-draft finals will, of course, have unique stadiums.

My comment about using unique stadiums is specific to the final round. No team in the championship round should play in the same stadium. That is how I remember it being done in one of the other tournaments. Not having unique stadiums would not keep me from joining. I agree with Pillpop on no DH for the 60s, DH for the other decades as it was in the Majors during those time periods, but again I will go along with the rules. 80 millions leagues for all decades is a must in my opinion.

I'd prefer DH in all leagues only because it gives HAL one less way to screw you. Unless there is a way in a no DH league to set up when you want HAL to pinch hit for the pitcher or bunt. I play so few no DH leagues that I've never checked. That being said I'll play no matter what the rules are unless there are any 200 million leagues or more than one 100 million league or 60 million league. I'd prefer all 80 million.
