It's a good idea to play twice each mystery decade. We could maybe change teams on the second season and remake a draft team order, but when we are to change decade, we keep the first duo teams that we got. It's just a proposition, i'm up to anything that we will decided.

I was born in the 60s but just barely so I have no memory of many of the players. Maybe if I could just win a 60s championship I would finally feel better about this set.

Ok, here's what I've got so far:
- 2 seasons per decade
- keep the same teams for both seasons, so no draft between seasons in a decade
- divisions will realign after the first season in a decade, according to standings

Speak now if you have a strong objection to any of this.

So, there will be a draft after the 2nd season. Should that be based on the standings (and playoffs) from season 2 or cumulative standings of the two seasons in the decade? The former would be simpler, but the latter option might be more fair.

The other issue to be decided is about trades. Trades will be an important part of this league since it's the one way to address your team's gaps. I hope there will be plenty of trade activity.

Of course when you trade a player, you are trading their rights. The team receiving a player in a trade doesn't get exclusive rights to that player unless the team trading them had exclusive rights. So if the Cardinals trade me Lou Brock and I drop Lou Brock, he could still be picked up by the team that owns the Cubs.

The issue to decide is about whether trades carry over from season to season. What I propose is that any trades are for that decade only. So I may trade for Tom Seaver in season 1 and retain his rights for season 2. But I don't have any rights to Seaver in the 70s (unless I have the Mets or Reds).

The other option is to allow trades to extend into the next decade, but that gets complicated. If I have the Mets in the 60s and I trade Seaver to a team wanting to have his (partial) rights in the 70s, I would only be able to do so if I committed to keeping the Mets in the 70s. That can get messy to keep track of and remember.

So, I propose that trades can only carry over for the decade in which we're playing.

I think this will be the last substantial rule that I ask people to weigh in on.

Cumulative when deciding draft order for the next decade.

Trades do not transcend decades.

I agree with this and I assume that trades made in season 1 of a decade carry over to season 2. So if I have the Yankees and I trade Mickey Mantle to the Red Sox in season one that Mantle would open season 2 of the 60s as property of the Red Sox.
