After 1998 I guess we start over in 1971 again. :P

I did enjoy it overall but the long off-season drafts almost did me in.

Actually we need a new genius idea from BC Manager. Maybe 4 team per decade (71, 74, 77, 81, 84, 87, 89, 94, 97). Large drafts, less drawn out. But I think I am really done with this format

If you don't pick a state you will not be part of the lottery and be slotted based on record.

Here are some ideas that could be used for one or all of the mystery card games:

1 - East, West, Central - Teams in the East can only draft players who had the majority of their cards from an AL or NL East team. Same for the other divisions. You sign up for a division and only compete with 3 others for the players from your division.

2 - Real Teams - You live draft a MLB team and can only use players with the majority of their cards from that team.
2a - same as above but you get to use any player with at least one card from that team

3 - Real Leagues - 2 divisions of all AL or NL players (majority of cards with AL or NL teams). 3rd division has 2 AL and 2 NL teams.

there could be a problem with these ideas as last I looked sorting FA by real team function did not move to the SOM site

Other ideas for leagues could be as simple as limiting 2B/SS/CF to a 3 or worse fielder or must use two SP in your rotation (at least every 5th game) who has a salary of no more than 1M. Another would be for the 12 managers who sign up to pick a very bad position player and then have a random draft and those players must start every game they are healthy at the first listed position on their card for the team they end up with. Another idea is that you must have X number of hitters in your starting lineup with an average injury rating greater than 1.0.

I like the real team idea. Everyone picks one real team good for three decades. Players carded to that team by most cards belong to you. The rest of the franchise players are free agents. We draft the free agents, but do we keep then for season to season, or just some.

keep thinking LMB we can get there
