Drafting System is Horrible

Okay I am done until the live draft is made available. I got EIGHT out of the 25 players I wanted. I want my money back. This drafting system is horrible. I did not get my top two guys, this system is ridiculous. I will stick to my CD-ROM from now on until the live draft with salary cap is available.

I waited a month for this B.S.????? I am so pissed. I am going to stay off the boards for a while. I was so excited for this team and now I am just disgusted. This is supposed to be fun, this ruined my day!

I got ONE pitcher and seven position players I wanted. ONE pitcher and seven position players. How is that possible? How could this drafting system possibly be worse?

Quit whining. It's a draft. You never get all of the players you want in any lottery system - live or automated. If you don't like your players, drop them and pick up the ones that you want. The system has lots of flexibility.

It's a fair system--just gotta learn to "like" other players available.

The more you play any decade the easier it is to figure out how to get the players you want in the draft. There are certain players that will always get drafted in the top ten or so players. Listing all of them in your top ten picks will most likely get you one player you want. The draft is fair, the strategy of where you place players on the draft card is what makes a good draft versus a bad draft.

Okay I have calmed down, and I apologize for my outburst. I was really disappointed in this draft. After waiting a month for the league to fill and being so excited I received 8 out of 25 players. That was the worst ever for me. I know I can fix my team in waivers and free agency but when you miss on your first pick you should receive your second pick and so on.., the way waivers works. I still love Strat-O-Matic, I was just really frustrated with this particular draft that I waited so long for.

Good luck to all!

I agree with Ducky. The Mystery Card games are about getting good cards, not necessarily about getting the particular players you want. You may end up being very surprised about who you're happy with in the end. Make some adjustments in the waiver, dig deep into that player pool, try some new guys. Jeez... Your season hasn't even begun, who knows how it's gonna turn out?

I agree with previous reply! And I had a draft that came out TOTALLY different.......it's disappointing, but does make for a bigger challenge yet in piecing together a team. The '60s has proven to be very interesting! I almost want to try Aparicio 1st or 2nd just to get that 1 at ss, but I like offense. And one team in my latest league has Aaron, Maris and Mays.....and a losing record (only 11-13 at this point, of course). And Morgan, May and Powell, too! I have Koufax, Gibson and Seaver - a reaction to crappy pitching on my other team. It's a different type of strategy, altogether.

I've had Aparicio twice and it hasn't worked out well. Can't imagine I will do that again. In one of my leagues I dropped him for Dick Groat and my team improved from below average to leading the division. I made a couple of other moves as well, but getting the money back from Aparicio helped me to do that.

I'm a big believer in strong defense up the middle, but it hasn't worked for me.
