New theme idea: The Biggest Loser

I always thought it would be a fun idea to play a league where the goal is to be the worst, so I thought why not make it a theme and give it a try!
This naturally goes against all normal rules, but I e-mailed support about this and they responded saying as long as all managers agree to the rules, then it is OK, and that after the league was over, the teams with the most wins who end up with the credits could transfer them to the teams that lose the most games.

I'm still working out a way to develop a fair set of "rules" for this league, but I want to gauge interest from the community to determine if this is interesting enough to continue to pursue.

This is what I have so far.

- Player set undetermined (however I prefer 80s or 90s)
- 80 mil cap with a minimum required salary of 75 mil
- no DH
- at the end of the league the team who actually wins 2 credits will have their credits transferred to the team that has the most losses and the 1 credit winner will transfer the credit to the team that had the second most losses. Still unsure how to work tiebreakers. Obviously we'll be working on the honor system here unless we could have SOM officially sanction the theme and transfer the credits automatically, or even better modify the playoff matchups accordingly (where the losers actually advance!) That would be fun.
- (Live draft? maybe?)

I'm curious as to who would be interested and I'm also open to suggestion for rules modification. This is not an official sign-up thread but if it makes it that far, then anyone expressing interest will have first crack at signups if/when it happens.

I would prefer a league with severe limitations like must have a 4 at SS/2B/CF, catcher with a + arm, no pitchers allowed with a salary over a certain amount, etc but where you are still trying to win games.

If it's the 90s (or 70s) I'm in, but not the 80s for me. I like your proposed rules. The minimum salary is the key. I've never seen such a league. I think it would be a fun and creative league.

I think this would be a good idea. Now if I could just reprise some of the teams that have shown competitive value in a most losses league I would be all set. Would agree with a tailored limit that would preclude some of the star players from purchase.

Why limit anything? you would only hurt yourself by getting yourself a star player.

Sounds very interesting. Don't forget to set rules on player changes as you go. Since you lose cap space you will need to decide whether to allow a lower cap as you go in case you get someone who is scoring or driving in too many runs so you can drop him and try to get a worse player.

If it's the 80's I'll just draft like I normally do and end up in last place.

How could this not be great!!! Count me in - never mind the ground rules that have been stated.............this is like "give-a-way" in checkers! Not as easy as you think. I love it! Keep me posted!

The theme is not dead, I just got a few things going on at the moment and it's not a good time for me. Everyone (the first 11) who has expressed interest will have first priority to join. I usually give a 24 hour window to either accept or decline your spot in the league. I hope to get the ball rolling sometime after Thanksgiving/early December.
