if your player is W to both sides can he have a ballpark hr chance listed on Sim-Misc stats if a ballpark homer chance was rolled on the pitchers card but of course your player missed it because he was a W hitter. I have a guy who is W to both sides on all of his cards but it shows he is 0-1 in ballpark homer chances.

If the roll goes to a ballpark HR on the pitcher's card, then it's still rolled normally, regardless of the hitter. If the roll is out, then the batter's out. If not, then N batters get a home run and W batters get a Single**. See http://www.baseballthinkfactory.org/btf ... mrules.htm for the rules.

Hope this helps.

Thank you for the response. I understand the rules in terms of what happens when its a W hitter or N hitter but I was wondering if a W hitter who rolls a bp hr chance gets a missed bp hr chance recorded in his Sim-Misc statistics. In this mystery format, having a guy who has some cards as a W and one or two cards as an N hitter means a lot in determining which card he has. If only N hitters get bp hrs recorded on their Sim Misc chart you will be able to glean info about their card from the chart. If all hitters get bp hrs recorded on their sim chart then it means nothing. I hope I am being clear about my question.

It looks like they list it as a ballpark HR chance even if the batter is a W, which does not really help you. I am NOT positive about this, but I DO understand what you are asking. I think the above poster answered the question for you...

If I have a hitter who is W/W in some seasons, then I check to see if he ever gets a successful ballpark homerun. If he does, then I can rule out his W/W years.
