Mystery Game vs Regular Strat

I got bored with the regular online leagues. The player pricing is too efficient. Most leagues have a few owners who spend too much on relief pitching and bench players. Everybody else is pretty evenly matched.

This Super60s Mystery League team http://onlinegames.strat-o-matic.com/team/1130655 started 13-21. I drafted Koufax, Bunning, Horlen and Peters. I drew the worst card for each one. Thirty some odd games in to the season, I dropped them (and Bill Henry-- I had his best card.). Picked up Ellsworth, Donovan, Ellis and Simmons. Finished with the best ERA in the league.

With very little offense I might add.

All the best players choose the mystery sets.

After the draft in non-mystery leagues, the die is cast. Nothing to do, but watch HAL run out the season.

Only if your managing exemplar is Grady Little. I do love the Mystery Games and its constant demand of roster analysis and management. However, the 20xx teams has its own demands of daily lineup, strategy, and pitching staff management...the Earl Weavers and Tony LaRussas will usually win out.

Now that I am hooked on The Mystery Game it is my favorite. I did play three 2013 seasons and I will play ATG8 but the Mystery games are my favorite.

I kind of got into ATG for a bit, but the MG is the best and even better at lower caps.
