90s Keepers Season 11: Full!

EDIT/UPDATE: The 90s Keeper League has one opening left for the upcoming Season 11.

EDIT/UPDATE: See 9/26 post for exciting new expansion team option!

UPDATE: Ducky has accepted the challenge to take the expansion team. Good luck, Mike!

Here is how it works. You protect three players from your adopted team's season 10 roster. Then there is a one-round supplemental draft. That gives you four protected players to take into season 11. It's a fun format because you get the continuity of a keeper league but without any of the work.

There is an $80 million salary cap, DH, waivers, 5/10/20 drop. There are no restrictions on your keepers once they are on your team; keep 'em, cut 'em, trade 'em. The choice is yours.

I will post a link to the available team(s) as soon as the list is final.

Here is what I'm looking for in a manager:

1. Able to check the forums at least daily during the supplemental draft.
2. Willing and able to load team within 48 hours when it's your division's turn to load.
3. Intent to play more than one season. If you decide the league is not for you, you are, of course, free to leave at any time. However, I'm looking for a manager who is looking for the continuity this league offers.

Here is a link to the complete rules for those interested in the "fine print":

This keeper league has a great bunch of managers in it. I've enjoyed it right from season 1...

I can confirm that I have two openings: UPDATE: One opening left.

The first team has some excellent players and plays in Camden Yards (9/6/11/11). Also, this team is underperforming in the current season, so it will have a high pick in the supplemental draft. ***CLAIMED***

====================
The second team will be a challenge, so I am giving the manager who takes this team a couple of bonuses.

http://onlinegames.strat-o-matic.com/team/1382926

Bonus 1: You may choose to keep only two players (instead of three) but get an additional draft pick in the supplemental draft. Your second pick will be the first pick of round 2 of the draft. (There is a second round for non-playoff managers who select a stadium in the first round.) Your first pick will be a good one since this team is struggling this year.

Bonus 2: You may choose any stadium not already in play. (All stadiums must be unique.)

UPDATE: ALTERNATIVELY, YOU CAN CHOOSE TO ENTER THE LEAGUE AS AN EXPANSION TEAM. PLEASE SEE NEW POST BELOW!

First manager to be accepted into the league will have first choice of teams. It's a great league, so don't delay. Sign up now!

I will be happy to take option 1, Oakland Oaks at Camden Yards.

Welcome to the league, Joe!

Now we need one more manager who is up for a real challenge. Does anyone have what it takes to turn around this other franchise?

Expansion Team Option

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to enter a league as an expansion team? It's the ultimate challenge for a general manager! If you accept, here's how it would work:

The available Peanuts franchise will be disbanded; you will start from scratch. Instead of naming keepers, you will get four picks in the supplemental draft:

1. Pick #1
2. Pick #2
3. Pick #10 (1st pick after the seven non-playoff teams have picked)
4. Pick #15

You also get to select a unique stadium.

The existing teams will have protected three players each for a total of 33 protected players before the draft begins. However, there will still be some excellent players to choose from. Just be sure to make those picks count because you are starting at a disadvantage. Can you overcome it? Also, rumor has it one manager who has some great keepers is looking to unload one of them. Perhaps you can swing a deal with him for one of your high picks.

I'll be honest. I don't know if such a team can be competitive. It will certainly take a skilled manager and a little luck to make it happen. Are you up to the challenge?

Note: The expansion team route is an option. If you're interested in joining this great league, you can still simply take the existing Peanuts franchise (see link and bonuses in above post).

EDIT: Corrected the draft picks since there are only seven non-playoff teams because we are disbanding one. Thanks to joeedrott for catching this!

It will be a little like when Gil Hodges took over the '68 Mets. We all know what happened in '69.

If you think you have what Gil had, take over and lead this team to greatness...

I've got an extremely busy weekend, but if you are still looking for an expansion manager come Monday, count me in.
