I learned something new about pitcher injuries

I was under the impression a pitcher with an * could only be injured for three days, so he wouldn't miss a start--I found out this wasn't true. Last night 60s Ray Culp was injured for 15 games, he was a 7*. I was like what and looked at the rules for injury to a pitcher in a non DH league. I found that a pitcher's injury is determined by innings pitched in real life. Ray Culp's 60s card has 4 years over 200 innings (which means only 3 days for injury) and one year under 200 innings (which means 15 days injury). Now I know what what year card I have for Ray Culp on 60s mystery card.

Just sharing, because I didn't think it was possible to tell what year card you had for a pitcher. I thought it was just * or no *. So, if you have a pitcher with some years under 200 innings and some over 200 innings you can narrow down the years you may have based on days of injury for a non DH league. Didn't know that, now I do.

Read the post at the top of the forum page "Help reading cards...". It has that tidbit plus a whole bunch more info that you may not know about.

At least you now know what year card you have with Culp. There is only one card where he can be injured for 15 games.

That's the key.
