just looking for a little input....in his first start of the season he was injured showing me that he is on his /69 card. I thought ok...I can work with that...after his 5th start of the season he has pitched 18.1 innings and has given up 30 hits and 20 runs...things will get better right? or is this card just not as good as I think it is.

by the way...I know this is not an exceptional card...but I don't think it's a horrible card either

I am not sure why you are saying his 69 card? One key is length of injury. How many games was he out with injury? Also, with only 18 innings, rolls hitters vs. pitchers under sim misc is important to look at to see if there is a large imbalance.

did the rules change for pitcher injuries?...The opposing teams DH was a lefty...the 6-12 roll was a strike out...thus the /69 card comes into play...right?

Never mind. I didn't know you were playing with a DH.

It is his third best card and a very serviceable one, I would keep him! :D

The Card is OK to keep but I would cut him. You should never cut a good card, but a middle of the road card can get hammered all season. At the end of the day, it is still the third best card of a guy that costs $3.00. Are you going to commit to potential continued poor results waiting for his third best card to turn it around? If it was later in the season I might hold him as the pickings would probably be slim, but early on is the time to make moves while the cost is lower. Also, I often go back and pick up guys I cut early after I've tried and failed to find better. If you can't find anyone better there is a decent chance a SP with those bad stats is still hanging out there, especially in an autoleague.

DurantJerry, are you in the Mystery Tournament this year?

I am not. I saw the post at the very beggining for the Tourney and have enjoyed participating over the years. I was in the final 36 of the 200X tourney and I kind of got my deadlines mixed up. Also, the 200X pretty much lets anyone who signs up play while the Mystery Tourney ended up having a hard deadline. Basically, too lazy of an approach to signing up by me left me on the outside looking in.

That's too bad Jerry.

By the way, I just picked up Briles on my tournament team and so far he is getting rocked. Oh well- shows what I know.
