Trying to figure DeCinces card...he was hbp against rhp, but not injured. His year 1 card has hbp + injury. It has been many years since I played the board game and can't remember how the injury system works. Is it possible for player to not be injured and stay in game based on injury roll, or is minimum present game injury? He also has HBP on year 4 and 5. Thanks for any help.

You probably have his 1986 or 1987 card. However, you might also have his 1978 card. Only 1982 and 1984 can definitively be ruled out.
There is a 10 percent chance (1-2 on d20) when you roll an injury that a hitter will be "temporarily injured but remains in game." However, the game does not report this when it happens.
It's similar to getting a 3-game injury with a batter. When you get a 3-game injury, it's likely that a hitter is on a 600+ AB+BB season. However, there is a chance that a hitter with less than 600 AB+BB simply rolled a 3-game injury.
