80's Experts - R Jackson vs. D Strawberry in Oakland

Who has the better cards for Oakland?
Both have their share of b-p HR's that will be taken away.
Straw has better speed and defense in RF for Oakland- a pitchers park.
Reggie played the beginning of his career there?
Who to choose?

Strawberry is generally better than Jackson in the 80s. Has power all years and as you said, he can run and field. Why not have both on your team!

I would definitely keep both. I would be very happy starting a league with Straw in RF and Reggie as DH.
I would avoid Reggie in right unless I had a "3" or better in left field but that might just be personal preference.
Even if you have a great LF and DH I would keep all 4 at the start of the season. One is bound to be in a bad year.

Oakland is not the best stadium for either player. I wouldn't necessarily draft either for Oakland, but I wouldn't drop either of them.

Re Oakland: I am mostly AVG/OBP (Carew, Madlock, Oberkfell, Griffey) except wanted more power than I usually have in Oakland.
Have McGuirre and Reggie - I know not their best park, but hope they give me L/R power so as not to have to always rely on needing 10 hits/game to score runs.
Think of all the LH power guys, Straw gives me best OBP, speed and D

Overall, I would take straw over reggie. Reggie is the better hitter but the "3" vs. "4" in defense I think makes a difference.

Prefer to play Reggie as DH, but have McGuire at 1B and Carew DH.

George Hendricks can be good. Dusty Baker gets a bad rap based on his price, but is generally worth it.
