HAL'S PH Decision??

H McRae PH for R Burleson in Gm 1 of the season vs. a RHP.
Burleson did not have either Avoid Setting selected.
McRae was the PH sub for LHP, NOT RHP.

Burleson finished the 3gm series 3-7, w/ 2 walks.
McRae went 1-5

Would HAL's decision telegraph a bad card for Burleson, and/or a Bal R card for McRae?

From what I have learned in past discussions is that HAL will PH for a player if the PH has a higher OPS than player in the game. You could have a really good Burleson card being pinch hit by a better McRae card or a really bad Burleson card being pinch hit by a slightly better (but still not good) McRae card.

26 games back from you in our 70's mystery auto league and I still have a chance of making the playoffs. You still have a shot of reaching +300 run differential. That's some amazing stuff. Good luck (well, except in the 2 series we face each other in the final 4 days of the season).

Hey, thanks for the reply - it does make sense.
Also, the congrats on that 70's team. It has the potential to be my best season ever - couldn't possibly replicate that roster, although I've tried.
Playoffs, however are another story..... I find the 5 Gm series too random. I wish the Mystery Card leagues could go to 7 Gms.
But....., thanks and good luck!!

So, did Burleson have a great card? In retrospect was it a sound decision to pinch hit for him in Game 1?
