I had a good 60s season, losing in the finals, so I'm not complaining. However, I find it amusing just how awful my catchers were. The following catchers were my starters at one point in the season before I dropped them (card rating based on OPS):
Elston Howard (worst card)
Gus Triandos (worst)
Dick Dietz (worst)
Sherm Lollar (worst)
Jack Hiatt (second worst)
Finally, at game 118, I picked up Randy Hundley who has his tied-for-best card and he hit well for me. Ironically, Hundley had been horrible in previous seasons I tried him, so I was reluctant to pick him up. With hindsight, I should have kept Triandos who really doesn't have a bad year. However, my "expert" analysis was that Dietz was likely on his best card when his first manager unexpectedly dropped him. Oops!
One more thing: My backup catcher Buck Rodgers also had his worst card!
