I've been waiting for him to reach 100 at bats before I said anything...well he now has 104 of them so here goes...he is on his 1984 card and is batting .164 with one double and three home runs and an OBP of .235 playing out of Olympic Stadium.

This is not bad news. He has had horrible luck to hit this badly. It is almost certain that his performance will improve. Also, you don't need to platoon him with that card.

Of course, if you cut him even though he has a good card, then you will turn his poor performance into bad news.

I agree whole heartily ... over time I have to hope he will do better...but this makes me question the rest of my roster.

Never cut a guy on his best card... Is he doing better yet? Best of luck.

I have no intention of dropping him...I am a very stubborn person... but this is very frustrating.Hrbek is now batting a whopping .233 after 193 at bats with seven doubles and nine home runs and a staggering .318 on base percentage. My team is nine games out and I firmly believe I would be right near the top of the standings if he were doing better.

While I believe you are making the right move keeping Hrbek, don't let your stubbornness ever keep you from dropping a player you should. It's okay to be conservative in dropping players (I am), but hanging on to players who don't have a good card will cost you dearly.

yea...no...for sure if he's on a bad card he is gone...Hrbek is not on his bad card...in fact /84 is supposed to be a good year for him... I'm gonna hold on to him and now that I'm too far out of the race I hope he drops below the Mendosa line...just because.
