Hitter vs Pitchers-2000's --Congrats to.......
Posted: Sat Mar 06, 2021 9:18 pm
Be part of the league that helps to determine if exceptional pitching overcomes exceptional hitting or if a lineup of dominant hitters will prevail against an all-star caliber rotation/bullpen. This league will test that premise by setting up 6 teams which will emphasize hitting while the other 6 teams will emphasize pitching.
Previous results: 90’s: Hitting centric teams won the season series but a pitching centric team won the championship.
70s: The pitching centric teams won the season series and a pitching centric team claimed the championship
80s: The hitting centric teams won 60% of games versus pitching centric teams. Two hitting teams won more than 100 games but both were stunned in the first round of the playoffs. A hitting team which won the wild card won the championship
Note—the rules are quite detailed---if you'd prefer an abbreviated version summarizing key rules—those follow

Once the league if full, we will run three randomizers—one for the hitting centric teams and a second for the pitcher centric teams. These randomizer will be used to establish the placement of teams in the divisions and the stadium draft order as well as the dispersal draft—all owners will participate in that draft.
Hitting centric teams—division assignment and stadium draft
Based on the randomizer, the first 4 hitting centric teams will be placed in the East. The next two will be part of the Central.
Pitching centric teams—division assignment, stadium and player dispersal draft
Based on the randomizer, the first 4 pitching centric teams will be placed in the West while the remaining two teams will become part of the Central. This randomizer will also determine the order of the 12 player dispersal draft and the draft order for stadiums.
For the stadium draft, the team we will use the 1-6 order.
Dispersal draft for the 6 outfielders/6 starting pitchers
For the dispersal draft player selection, the draft order will be the reverse of the stadium draft order—the teams getting the sixth slot (assigned to the Central) will get the first selection for the hitting centric and pitching centric teams in the dispersal draft with the team with the 5th choice of stadium (also in Central) getting the second choice of players and so on. That draft will be held on the message board after the league is full.
After the stadium and two round dispersal draft, the third randomizer will be run to establish the draft order for eligible players.
Player draft-all teams participate
We will hold a two round draft-snake style draft of players eligible for your type of team. After that, we will use the auto-draft function to complete rosters. If you are assigned a player that is not eligible for your team, please release the player before the season starts.
