We are ready to draft!
Welcome two new managers to the league, bumpy7668 and mds6101. For the benefit of new managers and a reminder for all here are the rules of the league:
For the benefit of new owners I will post the rules:
League rules: (edited from a post by coyote303)
Initial season draft will consist of five rounds. The draft will be serpentine with the exception of Round 5, which will be reverse order of Round 1. Thus:
Rounds 1 and 3 draft order is 1 through 12.
Rounds 2, 4, and 5 draft order is 12 through 1.
A stadium will be chosen in any of the five rounds, so four players will be selected for each team.
Draft order will be determined by a randomizer.
There will be a 24-hour period after the league fills to allow managers to trade their draft position with another manager. Individual draft picks may not be traded--only one’s draft position. After the re-draft, divisions will be assigned randomly.
Managers will select four players and one unique stadium during the draft. The draft will be conducted on the Strat-O-Matic Baseball: '60s, '70s, '80s, '90s forum. The stadium may be selected in any round.
Managers are allowed to trade or cut their draft picks during the season. As soon as rosters are frozen near the end of the season, each manager will protect three players to carry over for next season. The manager selects any three players from his final roster.
As soon as each manager announces his protected players, a 1-round supplemental draft is conducted. Any non-protected player is eligible to be selected in the supplemental draft. The draft can start during the playoffs; however, it won’t be completed until the season is over since the draft order is affected by playoff results. (Playoff teams have picks 9-12.) (Does not apply for re-draft years)
There are some additional rules considering realignment, tie breaks, and the supplemental draft that will be posted separately since they won’t come into play until the season is over.
Note: Your four drafted players should be placed last on your auto-draft card. If you leave them off your auto draft list, they are fair game in waivers.
$80 million

waivers = yes
advanced
These rules cover what happens at the end of each season.
Tie breakers
1. head-to-head
2. run differential
3. coin flip
East division made up of teams with four worst records or tie breakers.
Central Division gets the teams with the next four best records.
The Western Division will be made up of the four playoff teams.
The supplemental draft is ranked differently. Reverse order of win-loss records for the first eight places. Playoff teams automatically draft 9-12 as follows:
9. first-round loser with worst regular season record
10. first-round loser with best regular season record
11. finals loser
12. league champions
All ties resolved based on regular season (tie break "winner" picks last):
1. head-to-head
2. run differential
3. coin flip
Just to clarify: In the supplemental draft, the first eight picks are made by non-playoff teams.
Also, non-playoff teams may pick a new, unique stadium with their pick. If they do, they can still pick a player, but their player gets picked after all other teams pick theirs.
Playoff teams may not change stadiums......unless they forfeit their supplemental draft pick. In other words, a playoff team may elect to change stadiums or pick a player with their pick. A new stadium must still be unique. They then will have only three players on their auto draft list.
Clarification: A manager must use his own supplemental pick to select a stadium.
You can trade your supplemental draft pick for a keeper. However, trades involving supplemental draft pick(s) have to be even so when all is said and done, both managers have four protected players for the autodraft.
Examples:
my supplemental draft pick for Keeper Z (one of your keepers)
my supplemental draft pick and Keeper A for your supplemental draft pick and Keeper Z
my supplemental draft pick and Keeper A for Keepers Y and Z
A trade involving a supplemental draft pick cannot involve an unprotected player. (A protected player is a keeper or a player already selected in the supplemental draft.)
If you trade a keeper for a keeper between seasons, they should also be even. Of course, once the preseason has started, anything goes for trades. There are no restrictions trading keepers after the autodraft has been held and the league formed. For the integrity of this league's format, every team shall enter the autodraft every season with exactly four protected players.*
*Exception: If a playoff team picks a stadium with their supplemental draft pick, they shall enter the autodraft with only three protected players.
After every five seasons, a complete re-draft will occur. The upcoming season will be 45 so after season 49 (season 50) we will start over with a re-draft order determined randomly.
