Using the 70s players set, we will set out to determine which two teams, based primarily on city/state/country geography was the strongest in the 70s. Is it the New York Mets/Yankees who can send Tom Seaver, Ron Guidry and Jon Matlack to the mound as their starting pitcher? The Los Angeles Dodgers/California Angels who can add Nolan Ryan and Frank Tanana to the impressive Dodgers infield? Maybe the Ohio team which adds Gaylord Perry and Sam McDowell to the Big Red Machine.
Players assigned to team which they had the most plate appearances (hitters) or innings pitched (pitchers) from the time period between 1970 and 1979. An Excel sheet was created detailing which players are associated with each club. The team listed on the player cards has no impact on team assignment—the Excel sheet roster is the determinant of player assignment.
