Using the 90s players set, we will set out to determine which two teams, based primarily on city/state/country geography was the strongest in the 90s. Each player was assigned to the team they had the most plate appearances (hitters) or innings pitched (pitchers) from 1990 to 1999. Is it the San Francisco Giants/Oakland Athletics who can include Barry Bonds, Mark McGwire and Jason Giambi in their starting lineup? The New York Yankees/Mets who have the big four of Derek Jeter, Bernie Williams, Mariano Riviera, Jorge Posada and can add Jeff Kent, Bobby Bonilla and Edgardo Alfonzo to their roster?
Players were assigned to the team which they had the most plate appearances (hitters) or innings pitched (pitchers) from the time period between 1990 and 1999.
An Excel sheet was created detailing which players are associated with each club. The team listed on the player cards has no impact on team assignment—the Excel sheet roster is the determinant of player assignment. If you detect any mistakes, please alert me so the rosters can be updated prior to the team draft. Once the team draft is completed, no player assignment changes will be made.
While most teams had a natural match-for example, the two New York or Chicago team--, teams without a natural match were combined based on team roster fits/other connections. In addition, a small number of players were reassigned from their original team to another team in order to improve competitiveness. These players are highlighted in green on the official roster spreadsheet.

Player set: 90s
DH: Yes
Drop penalty: Standard
Trades: No trades are allowed
Salary cap: $120,000,000
Players assigned to team which they had the most plate appearances (hitters) or innings pitched (pitchers) from the time period between 1990 and 1999
Players from the teams not selected will not be eligible in this league with the exception of players selected in the supplemental draft described below.
Division assignment is based on the salary of players available to each team—the 4 teams with the highest salary will form the east; the 4 teams with the lowest salary will form the west while the remaining 4 teams will form the central. For example, the Minnesota/Florida team has the lowest available salary. If they are selected with the first pick, they will still play in the West division.
Team draft order: Based on a randomizer/team draft on the message board.
Team name: Include a reference to the team name/city/state so the team can be identified. For example, if you lead the Detroit/San Diego club, you could name the team “The 1984 World Series”.
Mid season acquisition: Due to the salary differences between teams, team combinations listed above with an asterisk (*) will be eligible to add a player via a mid season draft. Since there are 14 possible team combinations, players from the 2 combined teams not selected will be eligible for selection. Each team can select one player via a draft using the messaging system. The draft order will be established based on win/loss percentage with the team with the lowest winning percentage selecting first. The draft order will be based on the standings after game 75 and the player selected will be eligible starting with game 82.
