OK, I'll bite - simply because I've been trying to identify the so-called "perfect" SOM player the last couple of weeks.
That list may be appropriate in $200M and $140M salary cap leagues where you can afford the kind of salary these elite players command, and you can have above-average backups because, depending on which card is used, at least 3 on that list can get hit with 15 game injuries.
I'd pick Gibson at C, F Thomas or McGwire at 1B, Hornsby at 2B, FantaSim cards for Vaughan and Matthews, Bonds, Mantle and Ruth in the OF. Pedro, Maddux, Tiant and either Walter or Randy Johnson at SP with Murray in the bullpen.
But the list of 10 players would be much different and $60M and $80M where bang-for-your-buck value is the primary difference between winning and losing. A perfect player should create lots of runs on offense, save runs on defense, not be an injury risk, and underpriced relative to the amount of win shares he contributes to the team.
