2nd base choice

Playing at County Stadium '78, deciding between Frisch '23 or Gehringer '34. What's your opinion on who fits best?

that frisch card should be fine. i would look to upgrade pfiester's card and find a way to solidify your bullpen a little more. you want pitchers without # (ballpark HR's) on their cards. i would also find a way to upgrade to the highest salaried aaron card if you can. if not that one should work fine. i would also either look for a platoon partner for berkman with some # on their cards against LHSPers (many can be had for super cheap). i would free up the cash for these moves by spending no more than .90 on bench players. i usually will go down to less than .60 this will also allow you to get a better SS with some power. you want HR's in that park at every position possible. keep cobb though, he is awesome in any park. with the players you currently have your SS will be batting 8th or 9th.

hope that helps.

if you need to free up a little more cash the expensive stanky card make for an excellent 2B in any park because of his OBP.

Depends on the cap. I have found Frisch to be a dominant player at 80M. At 100M, not so much.

If your looking for suggestions
your paying a lot for Heltons D to use him as a DH - get a LFer and use Goslin as the DH
Pfieser is a non-* - get a *SP and change maxwell to one as well.

Wouldn't use Frisch as a #2 hitter in a $140 - get a 2Bmen with better OBP

I'm in the same league as AM Houston, so maybe I shouldn't be giving advice, but OTOH I know which Free Agents are available. If it were my team, I would definitely drop Frisch for Gehringer '34 and upgrade Pfiester to his better SP* card, which is really good. You could gain cash for this by dropping expensive Helton for a cheaper DH like Mule Suttles or Sam Thompson and by cutting one or two of your 2M+ relievers. You might want to consider trading Smoltz for an ace reliever who can pitch multi-innings (e.g. Radatz or Wilhelm, etc). That would let you get by with just one good #2 reliever.

This would turn your team into a lean, mean, fightin' machine. 8-)
