Speaking of weaseling...

I had a plan. I had Russell Martin and Marco Scutaro rated fairly evenly in terms of talent and need. The big difference: about half of the teams needed catchers; the only team that needed a shortstop was Tom's. So I figured take Martin now, and hope Tom doesn't take Scutaro to play SS in the next two turns.

Tom didn't take Scutaro. Zim, however, did. Since he already has JJ Hardy, I guess Scutaro will be a second baseman.

And now the remaining shortstops really, really stink.

By the way, Zim will need to drop Kenley Jansen, who was a Dodger last year.

Headsup that my bro Mark is on a plane from Vegas (or maybe Phoenix?) to Myrtle Beach and will be out of pocket for a while. He might have a layover, I don't know. But he and I could both be a problem for the draft because our father is in hospice and we'll soon have a much bigger distraction than the draft.

Not looking to be maudlin or bleed all over anybody here, but want to put upcoming possible speedbumps in the draft in perspective.
