Matt Williams hits 4

Have to say my, my 2nd favorite part of that box score is the "save" by Pruiett. He comes in with his team up 15-4, gives up 11 base runners in 3 1/3 innings, get tagged for 7 earned runs, and gets the save. What a joke!

Is the 4 home runs alone a record, or the combo with the "cycle" and number of RBI?

I had posted a similar notice about Reggie (Jackson) hitting 4 in one game a few weeks ago and whether or not that was a record tie or not, assuming that had already happened a number of times. Anyone ever hit 5 (or more)?

The record for most home runs in a game is presently at 5, but unfortunately - the links only work for post move to SOM teams. I have recorded this 4 HR game under Big Games for 4+ HR in a game and for 10+ RBI in a game.

Thanks! I knew it wasn't the record but just wanted it to be on the list. It was funny seeing how everybody's ERAs skyrocketed after that game!

I had Turkey Stearned do that once....with I think 12 RBI...went 5 for 5 ....but never posted it to records.

I meant the "royal flush"...Stearnes hit a solo, 2 run, 3 run, and grand slam, plus a triple.
