Moriarity

PostWed Nov 07, 2012 12:40 pm

Really don't know what to write here. For those of you who knew John(Moriarity), he died unexpectedly this past Saturday. Poorly stated by me but after sitting here trying to come up with a good way to say this, nothing came to me. Hope it is ok to put this here but figured there were people here who would want to know.

I only knew him through this silly game of ours but thought of him as a friend. When I started a thread for people to "donate" to the hungry by playing at freerice.com he went way above and beyond what I ever imagined. I tried my best to keep up with him but never did. His total for the TSN group I started was over 3 million but he had done way more before freerice actually started their current system of keeping track of individual and group totals. I never really properly thanked him. Thanks John, you will be missed.

RIP and my condolences to their family. I never knew Moriarty personally but he was always a good competitor.

Knew John from several leagues we were in and, of course, Mike. Lost my brother a few years back - sorry for your loss Mike. John was a really good man and will be missed by all of us who knew him.

I am really sorry to hear that. I have played in a lot of leagues w/him. I only knew him thru the game, but he seemed like a great guy.

Prayers and thoughts go out to his family.

Wow, sad news. Was in many, many leagues with him and he was always one of the best managers to go against. He was one of the live draft regulars during the times when we used to draft every Friday night. My thoughts and prayers go to his family and those closest to him.
