Need help with PC 2012 tournament

I don't understand the tournament. I am in one of the event 1 leagues. I am supposed to sign up for an Event 2 league as well? I am just really confused by the whole thing. Do I need to advance to Event 2 by doing well in Event 1? Any help would be much appreciated.

Hey its a total points tourny in the first 4 events u try to score as many points as possible by wins, division champs, etc. the top 24 players after the 4 events are finished move on to the championship hope this helps you out and good luck

Mr. Hacktastic, sorry I didn't get back to you sooner. Just noticed the question. Rudy's expanation is correct. So you need to enter one team in each event. Your point total will determine whether you make the "winner takes all" championship round, which comes after event 4.

Here is the points system, for each of events 1 to 4:

"Point system (events 1-4 only):
• 1 point for every regular season win
• 5 points for making the playoffs (wildcard or division winners all get the same 5 point bonus)
• Another 5 points for making it to the finals
• Another 5 points for winning the finals"

In the championship round, the manager that wins the final playoffs for that 24 team league is the tournament championship. The loser in the final playoff series for that 24 team league is the runner up.

thank you for the help guys. I joined Event 2 League 6. I noticed a few of the top players on the leaderboard still have more than 1 team for Event 1 counting. How often will the leaderboard be flushed of that so it is more accurate? I just want to see my name a little higher while I actually have a decent record lol.

I will check this out and get Strat to correct it. They've been good with this kind of thing. I just need to send them some instructions/requests to fix it.

I will post updated standings on my own this week, using a "games-adjusted" games behind leader type format. Hopefully tonight, but maybe tomorrow night.

Basically, the fix is just that I email strat and say, "please delete the following teams from the points totals for the PC standings, because these are filler teams." Strat then will go ahead and do that. But it takes time for me to make the list for my email to strat. I've done that a few times, and they've helped me out with that a few times, but it just takes time. My life has been crazy for the past month or so, so I am trying to catch up.

Apart from the problem of filler teams, there is also the inherent issue that each player has played a certain number of games with their official teams, which is different than other players.

I am trying to catch up on some commissioner duties this week, and the standings "maintenance" is one of those tasks.

I was planning on doing a bunch of these tasks last night, but at the last minute my son asked me to take him out to the premiere of the Hobbit movie (liked it!). So that prevented me from some catch up work on the PC tourney last night.

Will try to get to it today and Saturday.

UPDATE: mesquiton has PM'd me to say that he is working on his awesome format for PC standings from prior years, and that we might see those very cool standings appearing in the near future!
