World Series Rivals... Strat Partners

Another question so I'm sure on the parameters here. I already asked the question about e.g., the Pre-Cards not being able to use Post-Cards Musial - that's a no-no. So, your team from a designated era can not raid and use a player from maybe the same franchise, but different era, like Musial. I'm assuming this example is not allowed either. DB Boston using the same era DB Yankee Babe Ruth, instead of their pitcher Ruth. Or EXP Boston using EXP Montreal's Pedro instead of the Boston Pedro. Is that correct? You have to use the player's card from your era, your franchise.........period. Right?

From the rules:

Players on multiple squads belong to the team owning the player's most expensive card. The exception here is if the most expensive card belongs to a team not involved in the league; then the team owning the next most expensive card has ownership rights.

I think katzenjammer has a valid question, although I'm reading the rule differently than him. Harry has already said players with cards in two eras must use the card from the era of their team. "If the most expensive card belongs to a team not involved in the league; then the team owning the next most expensive card has ownership rights." While the most expensive card in play determines ownership rights, nowhere have I read that an owner cannot use the most expensive card of a player from the same era if that player is not carded to the team.

How about a clarification, Harry?

To clarify, a team can only use the card assigned to its own franchise, in its own era. For example, Boston EXP can not use Montreal Pedro - period, Pitt exp can not use any SF Bonds - period; it does not matter whether a team is included among the franchises available or whether the player in question is unused by one of the available franchises for whatever reason.
