ATG VII is coming. The Dickey, Lajoie, Vaughn and Mathews fantasim cards are being replaced and 200 cards added to the set. Says soon but no indication when soon will be. I will send out an e-mail feeler to see if they will give us some hint.

Well, ATG7 is coming "very soon" and we are still searching for Munich Man.

I am not sure if it is good or bad that Dickey, Mathews, Vaughan and Lajoie are being replaced, but I would suggest that since we need to wait for Munich Man anyway that we consider using the ATG 7 set (with it's 200 new cards and 4 replacements) for our SBDL 27th season.

Would each of you please chime in with your thoughts and preferences on the subject.
option 1 : just go with ATG6 for season 27 and proceed to ATG7 for season 28
option 2 : wait a few days, option to revise keepers, then use ATG 7 for season 27

either way, would love to hear from Munich Man. I'm hoping he is well and having a nice internet free adventure.

We usually start over (reboot) with the new game. So, I suggest going one more season with what we have (ATG VI) since we just rebooted. I wouldn't have drafted Mathews' fantasim card number one overall if I knew he was going to disappear.

I completely understand Honeyman's perspective -- but I'm also eager to include the new cards. Maybe give managers who lose a FantaSim keeper first dibs on the new set? That would just be replacements for Dickey and Mathews.

But either way is fine with me!

i am fine either way but i agree losing the fanta sim card hurt managers who drafted them high.

there are 3 teams potentially impacted by the 4 "fantasim" players being replaced.

I am not so certain the change will be an enormous negative, as the cards will be replaced and repriced. However, until the replacement cards are shown it is very hard to judge.

I have not been in SBDL long enough to have seen the last reboot, but I was around during the transition from ATG5 to ATG6 and it seemed relatively smooth as did the addition of the monthly new card sets on the old site with ATG6.

I can see a case being made for a supplemental replacement pick in moving from version 6 to 7 in light of the card changes, and I can also see the opposite regarding new card years given to existing players. (It does not seem to me that there was any uproar when some players got better new cards in the past).

Perhaps when we see the new player set there will be a change of opinion. Regardless, I would still like to hear everyone's thoughts on the options.

My own preference would be to go ahead with ATG 7 for next season if the set is released in the next week, but I am quite content with another year of ATG 6. I am not so keen on the idea of staying with ATG 6 for 6-12 more seasons or a "do over" draft very soon.

... AND I am missing Munich Man.... (_)?
