Will ATG VI still be available?

PostWed Nov 28, 2012 10:25 am

Here's a question I posted in the ATG forum, now that ATG VII has been announced. I'll let you know what replies we get...

* * * * *

The AL Round-Robin tournament recently started, with plans to play 12 seasons with the exact same (ATG VI) card set. Will that set remain available, even after ATG VII is released?

NL Round-Robin

PostSun Dec 09, 2012 6:27 pm

Okay, since the AL Round-Robin is under way, it's time to get ready for the NL version. If we can get organized now, then perhaps we could start playing right after Christmas? That would put the two leagues with one always starting during the middle of the other ones' seasons.

* * * * *

NATIONAL LEAGUE ROUND-ROBIN

Same concept as the current American League Round-Robin, except with no DH (of course).

12-SEASON COMMITMENT

12 teams, as shown below.
We will use the ATG VI set, even though version VII has been issued by now, in order to keep it simple to remember for both leagues.
No, to the DH option (for the NL).
$100 mil salary cap.
5-10-20% penalties for drops.
Standard game engine rules of 24-28 players.

Each manager rotates through all 12 teams once during the tournament.
Divisions randomized for each season.
Select your state lottery at signup; the first "daily 3" winners for the appropriate day will be used for division assignments.

Autodraft includes only players carded to your team; you choose the year of each player, if there are more than one available.
A player carded to more than one team in the league will only be available during the autodraft to the team for which he played the most games (e.g., Rogers Hornsby belongs to the Cardinals in the autodraft).

Any non-drafted NL-carded player is available during the waivers period, as long as he has played for your team.

Trades are okay, as long as you only end up with NL-carded players who have played for your team.

Teams would be as follows:

1. Boston - Milwaukee - Atlanta Braves
2. Brooklyn - Los Angeles Dodgers
3. Chicago Cubs
4. Cincinnati Reds
5. New York - San Francisco Giants
6. Philadelphia Phillies
7. Pittsburgh Pirates
8. St Louis Cardinals
9. Second-Chance NL Cities: New York Mets ('62) & Milwaukee Brewers ('98)
10. Southwest Expansion: Houston Astros ('62) & Arizona Diamondbacks ('98)
11. North/South Expansion: Montreal Expos - Washington Nationals ('69) & Florida - Miami Marlins ('93)
12. Western Expansion: San Diego Padres ('69) & Colorado Rockies ('93)

Stadium selected can be any stadium used by your team in the proper time frame.
Team names can be any variation on those actually used, whether formal or informal; e.g., Brooklyn Bums.
