A 100 win season for my team means ...

PostThu Oct 04, 2012 9:58 am

A) I'm dreaming.
B) I'm getting swept in the first round of the playoffs (aka "The Kiss of Death").
C) I'm winning it all.
D) Other (please explain).

For me, it's B by a landslide!

Also agree with B..have only had 2 one hundred win teams and both times got swept by the wild card team in the first round...

Which leads to my reply.

I hate playoffs and I really hate wild cards. I also loathe lotteries.

We're playing ATG folks. Might be nice if Strat gave us an option for 2 six team divisions as an alternative to the 3 division set up. No playoffs, just the world series. Same 2-1 credit split to the winners, same revenues to SOM. No more 100 game winners getting swept by wild cards.

Anybody like this idea? Again, would just be an option for the guy who creates a league to use. Should be no issue at all for SOM, especially if they now have a somewhat competent associate programmer to help Bernie over the rough spots.

Variable caps would be good for the same reason. No one would be forced to play at a cap they don't want to unless one joins the barnstormer tour.

I do like the 6 team division idea. At least the option of it. I'd join those leagues. I have a 106 win team in Barnstormers that I have a feeling will be done after tonight before reaching the finals.

What do you mean by variable caps? Whoever starts a league can enter a cap figure? Even if for some reason it's $107m? Because that makes sense to me too. How hard could it be to implement options like this?

Options = good

I was thinking round numbers on the variable caps. Increments of 10M. How hard would it be to implement this? Good question. Well, look at the manager ratings. How hard would that be to transition? So who knows, variable caps might not take another five years to encode. It should be easy but Bernie seems to be able to screw just about anything up.

The two division - 6 teams per divison option ought to be part of ATG VII. That's a great idea!

We already have the option to set our own cap, if this is what is meant by variable cap

This is an older post, the variable cap came to fruition, I'm just lobbying for the 2 division part to come next.
