Shouldn't WE be both proactive and reactive?

Okay, I am putting my money where my mouth is. I started an opinion page to
suggest what new features most encouraged me to continue playing and helped
keep my interest in on-line strat to keep continuously playing over the past years.

If you are going to switch it off, maybe you would consider turning it over to me or someone else to host elsewhere.

We can work something out for the Barnstormers Finals. I may be inclined to keep the draft feature going, regardless.

YES- WE absolutely should as well-
I think things like the features that people have been putting up and the general discussion many folks start in regards to the game suggest that there are many people here who are proactive about the game.
The problem is that things can only happen when the people who have their hands on the controls move their digits.

I have suggested before, and will suggest again, that the salaries should be adjusted based on usage.
I concur and would hope it would be done quarterly.

Use the totals in 100 and 80M leagues and change pricing no more than 2 or 3% every three months as warranted.

My hunch is that they are doing a ATG VII with the correct cards replacing the fantasim cards so they can leave the fantasim cards as-is in the ATG VI set. That way the bogus cards will still be available for leagues that have a multi season commitment.

Strangely, some people still feel the need to get in a shot at Bernie many months after he is gone but communication was much better when he was around and we wouldn't be left to speculate like we are now.

Well I agree...and disagree...Yes at times, Bernie was available, and some communication is better than no communication.... But he always picked and choose who and what and when he felt like responding...and I'm not talking about team name changes or stadium changes etc which "imo" rate low on the timely communication scale...This game in 10+ years has improved a good amount, but not nearly, not even close to nearly, as much as it could with proper Management.

The fact that it has been 10+ years and the rules we play under are still not clearly posted anywhere on this site is absolutely mind boggling and so negligent it's almost criminal. :x

I don't think it's criminal, but I do think the loud outpouring of frustration helped SOM stabilize and improve the game in many aspects. I still don't like the user interface, but am getting used to it unwillingly, and I enjoy very much the deeper stats. The bottom line is that if we did not complain about the very rough transition, the game would be less -- so a kudos to all those who voiced their concerns. Thankful for that.

I think maybe some of the things inconsistent about the communication during the Bernie era was that he was a one man show and spread too thin. Communicate some, work on the game some, which contributed to some of the dissatisfaction.

The main point is pointed toward the current powers in charge. Having Johnny G issue a statement once a month or so is not what we had in mind when asking for more communication. We liked the back and forth of tossing ideas around we got from Bernie. I like the progress made at this site and the game is probably better than the old site but we are left to wait and see too often instead of receiving some ideas and concerns from management for us to chew on.

And yes, the lack of game play rules and procedures is a glaring mistake. How are new players, that do not own the board game, supposed to know how all of the information on the player cards is translated into actual game play?

And, where is the live draft app?

When I first saw the announcement my first thought was maybe they have been putting fixes and feature restoration in to the new version for ease of coding and testing. No mention of anything new in the post was a disappointment.

Hard to get excited about 200 new cards with no hint about who might be included. Any little hint at all would generate some discussions on the boards creating some interest. It was fun reading the comments about which new cards might get the most use or guesses on what the prices might be.

The news of the 4 cards being replaced was very welcome.

On pricing the entire set I would be in favor of that. But believe it should be formula based and not under the control/influence of any game players. To me that is a little like letting stock brokers set stock prices.

Agreed.

Soon, what is soon. Anyone hear when ATG 7 might be available???? Christmas, next year?

Some of us, NTexaswidowmaker, Budo73, Hinitx and I are all crying over the banishment of Arky Vaughan, Eddie Mathews, Bill Dickey and Nap Lajoie. And of course Mr. Murray. Thanks to all of you realists out there.

What about Dutch Leonard? And the ten thousand stud closers? Anyway,
