Re: Pesos de beisbol rules-Need help on keeping rostersheet

PostWed Nov 28, 2012 8:55 am

Guys, I really want to get started with either sknsfan's roster sheet or thisisdan's googledoc. There are lots of transactions of note already with the completed Supp draft and many trades.

I'm reaching out to you, Anyone that can write down or verbally walk me through the procedures for one of the roster sheets (sknsfan's or thisisdan's) can call me (208-963-9201) or PM/email me...fredpaii@yahoo.com

Obvious people that could help me learn this are sknsfan and thisisdan. Of course those two are usually very busy. But I am very willing to listen to anyone who has knowledge on these things. I only want you to teach me. I will do all the work once I learn how to do it.

Thank you

Commish in diapers,

I just updated all the Supp transactions (adds and drops) to the roster sheet. After I log in those trans. onto the appropriate sheet I will tackle the trades.

You need to cut a player from your 40-man roster. You went over on your Nov. 10 trade with Jkendall.

Thank you so much,

If we're going to follow the league rules then we have to drop player(s) the day of when we go over the 40-man limit.

Re: Pesos de beisbol-***AMENDMENT TO RULES***Please Read

We currently have a situation with a league member having extra player(s) on his 40-man roster. As it currently states in the rules...

Roster rules:

1) Each team must carry no more than a 40 man roster. In the event a transaction sends an owne's roster above the 40 man limit, said owner is allowed 1 day to release as many players as necessary to get back to the 40 man limit. However, if an owner has less than 40 players due to uneven trades, the owner cannot bring his roster to the full 40 until a Free agent draft, whether spring or supplemental (see player movement).

This situation is untenable. Perhaps if a transaction was completed during the off season and the roster was corrected BEFORE a SOM league season got under way I could let it slide. But during the season you need to get your roster down to 40 within a days time. PERIOD.

Of course if you state that you're dealing with personal or private issue that is demanding your time then an exception will be made to the one-day allowance to make your cut(s). But you need to keep me informed about that! Failure to give an excuse, however, tells me you don't care about the rules. If you don't care about the rules then that sets a poor precedent for the other league members. Then the value of any rule becomes a boundary issue. I can't operate a league with people testing the boundaries. Or lets' just say I won't. Can the Commissioner do his job effectively if rule-breaking has no consequences?

On that note I've come up with the following league constitutional amendment...

Roster rules

1. Each team must carry no more than a 40 man roster.

***Amendment to Roster rule #1***In the case of a league member being more than one days time over the 40-man roster limit during an SOM season I will take action to rectify the situation. That action is to cut as many team players as necessary to get back to the 40-man limit. And the cut(s) will be final. Full discretion of who is cut is left to me, the Commish. Obviously I'll try to cut the least valued player(s) on an over the limit roster but no guarantees. And I'll commence cutting any time after a day has elapsed.

I will give the current league member until Wednesday, 9pm est to make his cut. Otherwise I will take care of it. In this case I have sent at least one notice to the league member (Sunday morning) that I KNOW has been read. No response so far. ALL 45 league games have been played with said league member being a player over the limit.
