I'm interested but think as we get down to the last 2-3 teams, it may get tough for guys to pick their squads.

Any thought of a randomizer?

Trying to get a feel if there would be any interest in the following:

The Franchises:

Phi (NL) - sdajr76
NY (NL) - misterg
ST Lou. (NL) - katzenjammer
Pitt (NL)
Chi (NL)
CIN (NL)
Bos/Mil (NL)
Brooklyn (NL)

NY (AL)
Cle (AL)
Det (AL)
Bos (NL) - fraank123
Phi (AL)
Chi (AL)
STL (AL)
WASH (AL)

(I assume this should be Bos (AL)?) Looks like this league is one where there will be lots of preseason work to do :ugeek: :o  :? :)

It Might be difficult but since I pick last...that leaves 11 of the 16 franchises avail. +2nel players (excluding Yanks)...I think I hope it will be competitive. Also there are some players who people forget where they started there careers so hopefully that will make the team a little more attractive,

fraank123 and I must have both tried to get the Red Sox at the same time. I guess by being seconds late, I'll take the Yankees, but why are they penalized in regards to NeLers? With the rule that you play with the first team of a career, Ruth and many other Yankees are ineligible (Ruppert bought practically the whole Red Sox roster in making his first Yankee dynasty).

Just curious, I probably won't use more than one NeLer anyway................

andycummings65,

I don't mind switching to another team if you prefer the Red Sox. I just look at these type of heavy research involved leagues as good opportunity for learning experiences.

I just felt that although Ruth would be with the Red Sox...Keller Selkirk Dimaggio..Mantle Berra Meusel..Dickey..Lazeri et all would be more then adequate...although Mantle and Dimaggio both playing CF would be a prob...Oh yea and big Lou

I have a question for you history buffs. The Cardinals originally started out in the NL as the Browns, then Perfectos, and then Cardinals. So......if any one is listed as a Brown (in baseball reference guide) prior to 1901 or so, aren't they actually a
Cardinal and eligible for the St. Louis (NL) franchise team?

Which brings me to this point.
Who in the heck were the Cleveland Spiders? I don't see them listed as a predecessor to any existing team.
If they're a defunct team (didn't move, just folded) would Cy Young be available to the St. Louis (NL) franchise, since the first team he played for of the original listed franchises was the Browns (er......Cardinals).

Think this is very similar if not identical to the "Honus Wagner rule" you cited above.

I just did a quick research of this, not sure of the facts, but that's what it looks like.
