The National League History: created in 1876
1876--Cubs and Braves were charter members (though named White Stockings and Red Stockings at the time)
The other six charter members folded

1883--The teams that would become the Giants (Gothams) and the Phillies joined the NL

1887--the Pirates (Alleghenys) joined the NL

1890--the Reds and Dodgers (went by many names) joined the NL

1892--the Cardinals(then named Browns) joined the NL

1899--the following teams were contracted: Baltimore, Cleveland, Louisville, and Washington)

American League History
The American League began play in 1901, though it had existed somewhat as the Western League, Ban Johnson's creation. 4 of the Western League's teams became AL teams, and four brand new franchises were created.

The Detroit Tigers began play in the WL in 1894 and joined the American League in 1901

The St. Louis Browns were created in 1894 as the Milwaukee Brewers of the WL. Milwaukee joined the Al in 1901 and moved to St. Louis to become the Browns in 1902

The Indians began in Grand Rapids in 1894 as members of the WL. Grand Rapids moved to Cleveland in 1900 and joined the Al in 1901

The White Sox began in Sioux City in 1894 as members of the WL, moved to St.Paul in 1895, moved to Chicago in 1900 and joined the Al in 1901.

The Yankees were created in 1901 as the Baltimore Orioles and moved to New York in 1903.

The Red Sox, Senators, and Athletics were created to join the American League in 1901.

Thanks Andy...

Since Cleveland Youngs original team was considered part of the NL...his 1st team for the purposes of this league would in fact be St lou (NL)

Well, just found out Cy Young might have to play 2nd or 3rd fiddle to Mordecai Peter Centennial (Three-Finger) Brown.

This will all be very interesting after it plays out. Hope it gets off the ground and flies!!

The difficult part will be finding and tracking .50 players to fill the roster.
