So my team is struggling . . .
Is this team really struggling? I think not. It only appears to be because your second place team is 12 games behind the LHP heavy front-running "Jones Beach Big Boys" with an amazing 42-18 .700 record so far, which you happen to play at home tonight. The Big Boys will come back to earth eventually, a .600 record 100 win season in all likelihood, so you're probably playing for a wild-card spot, with a slew of teams bunched together near .500 like you are. Your team needs a few tweaks around the edges, not a complete overhaul. You've been facing a lot of RHPs so far as teams try to avoid Gibson's power. Maybe a platoon at LF with gawd-awful Gates is the answer. You decide. You may be winning close games because Alomar and Santo are saving runs with great defense, hard to tell. But LF is one position that allows you to hide poor defense if the other OFs are solid contributors. Medwick may be the answer, but there should be a lot of better options available instead of B Williams once you unload some extra cash tied up in backup players.
