Why not wring all of the excess from your roster (Bailey, Driessen, Kuntz, etc.) for .50-.60 guys, drop Alomar for a cheap "1" range 2B (just write off that position for offense--maybe someone like Reynolds), and upgrade both WIlliams and Santo. You'd have money for Medwick (who would be ideal for your park--he'll give you .300/.350/.500) and a 3B. Torre is a good choice, despite the D. Who are some other available 3Bs? Schmidt works best in a power park and if he's facing a lot of lefthanders. He'll give you some homers, but he's also very likely to be another disappointment in that park.

Schmidt, Allen, Torre, McGraw, Robinson, and Monroe are tops avail. Foxx is available too, as is A-Roid, but I won't take A Roid.

Jud Wilson is also available, if I'm including Foxx . . .

If the money works, Medwick Torre punt at 2B sounds pretty good to me. But I would also get more opinions before making a move.

For what it's worth, here are Torre's numbers in 140 mil leagues from Diamonddope:
0.318 0.360 0.505

If Jimmie foxx is available you need to get him one way or another.

i would definitely pick up the 8mil medwick, foxx, a different 2B maybe stanky, and drop williams for someone else in lf maybe even for goslin. you need to trim the fat on that bench as well. you can free up a lot of money for upgrading your starting position players. i wouldn't worry about handedness. if you can set up a line up like the one below i think you will win more games.

2B:stanky
SS:yount
C:j.gibson
3B:foxx
CF:snider
LF:medwick
1B:r.carew
RF:guerrero

So my team is struggling . . .

Is this team really struggling? I think not. It only appears to be because your second place team is 12 games behind the LHP heavy front-running "Jones Beach Big Boys" with an amazing 42-18 .700 record so far, which you happen to play at home tonight. The Big Boys will come back to earth eventually, a .600 record 100 win season in all likelihood, so you're probably playing for a wild-card spot, with a slew of teams bunched together near .500 like you are. Your team needs a few tweaks around the edges, not a complete overhaul. You've been facing a lot of RHPs so far as teams try to avoid Gibson's power. Maybe a platoon at LF with gawd-awful Gates is the answer. You decide. You may be winning close games because Alomar and Santo are saving runs with great defense, hard to tell. But LF is one position that allows you to hide poor defense if the other OFs are solid contributors. Medwick may be the answer, but there should be a lot of better options available instead of B Williams once you unload some extra cash tied up in backup players.

Let me start by saying I'm not the best person to be telling you what to do. I'm not a very good manager at all. I do know that on every team (4-5) I've used Medwick's 8M+ card in a 140M ,he has been very good. Much better than Williams could ever be. Dreissen's $1.76 is wasted. Carew only gets hurt for the remainder of the game if even that. I don't know how to look at your FA wire from here either. Even by dropping Dreissen and Williams it does leave you enough for Medwick. Santo or Alomar then become the key to getting Medwick. 2B & 3B are probably thin at this point also. Like I said , I like your SP. Your pen is okay. So pitching isn't your problem.

Let someone else give move ideas other than myself. Medwick would be a good move for you though and i don't think many would disagree. You really don't have any power but a couple guys. The Alomar's, Santo's Williams', and Duke are killing you. Of the 4, Duke will hit so keep him. Don, Roosky or Druid are better at giving solid advice more than me.

Medwick seemed like a consensus. So that move has been made, but still not sure about 2B&3B. Foxx would be nice, but I don't think I can free the cash for his 13 mil card. Is the lesser card still worthwhile? I can deal with Alomar alright, the defense is great . . . Stanky is on a team already.

The cheaper foxx would still be a huge offensive upgrade over santo and that would outweigh the hit you would take on defense.

The cheaper Foxx could be gotten with Alomar and your remaining cash. That would leave you 7M ish to replace Alomar at 2nd from Santo's $$$.
