DRAFT - Post WW2 ATGv7 24 team "pick 2" draft league

Although you make some good points regarding other issues with strat, the rules in this league we signed up for states the below:

For players that have cards with multiple teams; the team with the higher dollar card
gets auto drafting rights. For example, Barry Bonds has cards with SF exp and Pitt exp. His high dollar card is with SF exp, so the manager who selected SF exp gets auto drafting rights to Bonds. If the manager with SF Exp does not auto draft Bonds, the manager with Pitt EXP can pick him up at any time after the auto draft runs.

Therefore, Howard goes to Was Exp.........

Check the Texas Rangers Roster. His 1967 card is part of that Franchise. I am ONLY pointing this and asking what I felt was a viable point NOT making a Federal Case about it. I will take the high road and end this back and forth discussion right now. Howard 1969 Card is OFF limits for the Rangers Franchise. Thanks, Frank. I have always believed that it was necessary to come to this conclusion - follow the history of my posts. But the point I have been trying to make is that this is just another example of the complete lack of attention to detail and to the wishes of the community by the management. This issue has been raised over and over again in the various incarnations of Franchise leagues here, and not only has nothing been done about it, but the problem has never even been acknowledged as far as I know.

And I strongly believe that 25 years of history for the Rockies and Padres, and WS appearances by the Marlins, Rays, and D'Backs, certainly merit more than a few cards from each franchise. Yes, I understand that SOM sells individual teams, and that these editions certainly are attractive to fans of those teams, but they can get around that easily.

This product could be so much more attractive to Strat gamers (and there are many of them) if they would just exert a little bit of effort. And If they did that, it would be a lot more fun for us, too, since leagues would fill faster, there would be more new players, and all in all the quality of the product would improve.

I just don't understand their reluctance to communicate with us!

do we need waivers or straight to frenzy?

we need waivers because all 24 of us would not know when the league fills for a frenzy and some teams would have an advantage of grabbing all the best players from the FA list. Likely it won't matter much as there likely won't be anyone good not drafted by the owning team. If everyone drafts only the players they have access to for the AD (not someone on your team that has a higher salary card for a different team) then we all will be 100% in the AD. Even though the waiver priority would be a crapshoot at least no team would be more than one player ahead of you before you get a chance at a FA.

First of all, thanks to Frank M for resolving the Frank Howard drama, I will update a post on page 1 of this thread that displays the teams left that are available to draft..

If you are setting up the league, set it for WAIVERS, this will allow teams a fair shot at players that may be eligible for their roster, but they Do not have auto draft rights to.. Check my initial post you will see I called for waivers.

Example, if Toronto does not ad Clemens, both the Red Sox and Astros should be able to put a waiver claim on him...
