Most wins, No playoffs

I've got a team right now with the third best record in the league that probably will miss the playoffs. Got me wondering what teams I've had win the most games without making the playoffs.

2 89-73 teams
4 88-74 teams
7 87-75 teams

What's your worst hard-luck team?

In my first year ATG IV had a team go 91-61 and miss

Had a 93 win team finish 3rd in the division.

90-72 (once)
88-74 (twice)
87-75 (five times)

Also made the playoffs once with an 88-74 team that finished 18 games out!

93 wins.

3 teams finished with 93 wins, 1 won divisions, 1 won wild card, my team lost all the tiebreakers.

(Correction, I thought it was 94,... when I looked it up it was only 93 wins).

Mine are ALL hard luck teams.

94 wins, +168 run diff (4 runs behind leader), won bonus credit for best record in stadium group for Barnstormers event, but finished 4th in league, 3rd in division, missed playoffs by 4 games

I've had at least a dozen teams over the years win 90+ and miss the playoffs. I do remember a league in either ATG 1 or 2 where I won 99, tkl33 won 98 and the 3rd place team missed the playoffs with 95 wins .

Anybody know how to access those old teams???

You win.

In order to have several teams with lots of wins (and then miss the playoffs) you generally must have a few teams with LOTS of losses too. I'm not saying that these 90+ win teams that missed the playoffs weren't good, BUT I do see a couple of REALLY BAD teams in mesquiton's league. 49-113?? 56-106?? I suspect a few of those 90+ wins came against them. Still hurts to get 94 and not get in.
