Bullpen v3

PostSat Dec 29, 2012 7:38 pm

I read a lot of people saying we need bullpen v3 more than anything else. I am curious. What exactly does the community envision bullpen 3 as being and accomplishing?

The current bullpen version in the computer game lets you prioritize all your relievers for as many situations as you can dream of. Takes ages to program, though, if you get too crazy. All in all, a good thing, though.

I expect it will raise the 'mound' 3 inches after they pour extenz on it. ;)

IT will accomplish the same thing for pitchers that the reverse line-up accomplished;
more control over matchups-
except that since we already have an imbalance of hitting over pitching, then it will bring it back slightly.

Right! And we can all start carrying 10-man bullpens!

Sometimes in a 200 mil league I wish I could do just that. There is a part of me that would like to see us being allowed to carry 13 man pitching staffs. The Rangers at times did that last year with a 25 man roster. Seems reasonable to be able to do it with a 28 man roster. I would especially like to be able to do that if some variation of what rburgh describes is implemented and it really worked to give me good matchups late in games.

hmm, 3 responses. Guess bullpen v3 is not as hotly desired as some led me to believe.

no, it is. however, do we really need to learn how to setup our bullpens from scratch again just for them to **** up just the same?

I hear what you say. One of my biggest concerns is how well HAL will handle the small bullpens most of us utilize if that super hal bullpen is implemented. Right now we cannot even have high confidence avoid RH for our lefy specialist will be honored.

If it is attempted I hope they will have a huge beta test pool of players. I am certain there will be many pitfalls with it and tweaks that will need to be made.
