A few days ago I promised a "new wrinkle". Well, here is my proposal which can only be approved by an 8-vote count...
This proposal involves the drafting of your team's prospects.
Everyone would draft a MLB team of their choice from a randomized draft order to begin. These teams would remain constant for two calendar years at least at which time a league member may change his team to a different team...again determined by randomized draft order. But that's getting ahead of ourselves a bit.
For now all we need to do is draft a team after the order has been randomly established (if this proposal is approved) and then pick one of that teams prospects (ex- Padres, Rangers, Mariners...etc) each calendar year
If you wish to participate in a given year of this draft there will be compensation to be paid. You will surrender your following year's fifth round Spring FA pick . In other words we hold the team prospect draft in mid-March 2013 (or earlier if you wish) and the 5th round pick you surrender (if you choose to participate in that year) will be from the 2014 SPR FA draft. While the yearly participation is optional the picking of the teams is not...provided it's approved of course.
To follow up from my initial statement on switching teams...you may do so after two calendar years (four SOM seasons)of owning a specific team. Just need to tell me of your intentions. That's down the road a bit but I wanted to give you all a way to change it up if you got dissatisfied with your chosen teams stock of available propsects. The catch is there would be a price to pay if you wanted to change your team after two years. That would be your 2nd round Supplemental draft pick of the same year you asked to switch teams. That would be surrendered.
Anyhow, if you have ANY questionms please ask here in this thread.
All other prospect rules remain the same. Nothing changes.
We may begin voting on this...I'll start it off in my next post here.
